For the vehicles of Villiger Entsorgungssysteme AG, the murrplastik site in Switzerland and Zahner Electronic AG collaborated to develop robust, complete solutions for cable protection and cable labeling – specifically for use in extreme weather and stress conditions.
The technology is used in so-called Speed-Waste-Lifters with hydraulic crane, which automatically empty large waste containers. The automation components are in daily use and are exposed to severe weather conditions and mechanical stress. To prevent failures, customized protection systems for cables and wires were integrated. In the control cabinet, intelligent labeling ensures a comprehensive overview and facilitates maintenance work.
Waste disposal vehicles with hydraulic crane systems are exposed to extreme environmental conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, UV radiation, dirt, and mechanical stress on a daily basis. Hydraulic components used in the automated lifting and emptying of large waste containers are particularly affected.
To ensure long-term operational safety, Villiger AG relies on high-quality corrugated conduits from murrplastik. These reliably protect the sensitive cables from weather conditions and mechanical stress - even with extreme temperature fluctuations and dirt build-up.
In addition to physical protection, durable labeling of cables and terminals ensures clear structures. The labeling remains legible even under extreme conditions and makes maintenance much easier. In the control cabinet, intelligent terminal labeling also ensures clarity and efficient work during service.
A central element of the electrical infrastructure of the vehicle is the control cabinet, which is mounted directly at the crane. It manages all of the electronic supply and control of the crane functions – from hydraulics to sensors.
In such a complex system, clear and durable labeling of the installed components is essential. For this reason, terminals and cables in the control cabinet are equipped with high-quality labeling solutions that remain reliably legible even under difficult conditions.
This labeling offers an essential advantage in daily operation: in case of maintenance or failure, all cables and connections can be quickly and clearly identified. It not only saves time, but also minimizes the risk of incorrect connections or lengthy diagnoses—a real added value for service personnel and operators.
A key factor in the success of this project was the close cooperation between Zahner Electronic AG and the Swiss murrplastik site, which provided the company Villiger Entsorgungssysteme AG a complete overall solution. Zahner Electronic AG manufactures control cabinets and cable harnesses for Villiger. The production is characterized by high quality, expertise, and experience in control cabinet construction, especially in terms of the technical requirements for mobile machinery. Zahner was responsible for the complete construction of the control cabinet for this project, which is installed directly on the crane and ensures the entire power supply and control of the crane functions.
murrplastik supplied the suitable labels, which were mounted both in the control cabinet and on the cables and corrugated conduits. These ensure permanent, clearly legible labeling, which enables quick and reliable identification, especially in case of maintenance or failure.
The corrugated conduits supplied by murrplastik were also used in the pre-assembled cable harnesses from Zahner. In combination with molded connectors, they form a ready-to-connect unit that considerably simplifies installation for the end customer and at the same time offers a high level of operational reliability.
